We aim to develop partnerships between parents and staff which are based on mutual trust and respect and which promote the sharing of information and knowledge for the benefit of the children in our care. This relationship is built on right from day one where we offer our Home visits.
At Artemis we offer home visits, where prior to your child starting nursery, members of our team will come out and visit your child in their familiar surroundings. We do this as we believe children settle quicker if they recognise a familiar face that has already visited them at home.
Whilst our team are with you we will aim to answer any questions you may still have and discuss the EYFS and how we record, monitor, target and plan for your child.
We also hold parents evenings twice a year where parents will get the chance to talk about their child’s progress and nursery routine with their key worker in depth. This is also an opportunity for them to meet other families and to pose any questions that they have regarding the nursery or their child’s development.
As well as the above we also hold ‘parents forums’. These are meetings which are held three times a year and give parents the opportunity to be more involved in the nursery. A different theme is covered in each meeting and it gives parents the opportunity to exchange views and get to know one another.
These are sessions for parents/carers to come into the nursery and stay and play with their child in the nursery environment. A chance to get a glimpse into your child’s day.
These sessions are held termly and give parents the chance to come in and discuss our system of observation, planning, and the assessment process in more depth.
