About Us

We care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age in very safe, homely environments. We are open 51 weeks per year (closed for one week at christmas and bank holidays).

Artemis Nursery was established in 2007. It was initially located in St Leonards, but due to its success and considerable increase in numbers, has expanded to encompass a further two sites, one in Hastings and more recently a site in Hollington. Artemis Nursery is a family nursery, being both run and owned by Emma Buggy and her brother and sister in law Dominic and Lee.

Emma is an experienced nursery teacher who has taught children for over 18 years. She holds an Early Years Teacher Status and has degrees in both ‘Early Childhood Studies’ and ‘Early Years’.

Artemis St Leonards was the first of our three nurseries to open in 2007. Based within close proximity of St Leonards and Warrior Square train station, Artemis St Leonards is set in a large victorian house with a real family feel. This is the smallest of our nurseries allowing a maximum of 30 children at any one time. Artemis St Leonards has recently been awarded an Outstanding grade by Ofsted 2015.

Artemis Hastings is just round the corner from Ore train station and takes over the whole of a three storey house, which used to be an old dairy. Here we have three separate rooms divided by age and a hot tub room which allows extra space on a rainy day and space for adult focused activities.

Artemis Hollington is run from an old converted church hall which has been extended and can house up to 70 children. There are three main rooms and two outside play areas divided between the age groups. Artemis Hollington is bright and very spacious allowing children plenty of room to explore, play and grow.

“It is lovely knowing that I have sent my child to a nursery who cares so much about the children they are looking after. It makes such a difference to a working mum.”
